Since 2015: A project on constant growth
On the Contorno Urbano Foundation we plan our projects with responsibility and a global vision of the city. L’Hospitalet de Llobregat is a very complex city, with one of the highest population densities in Europe, an income per family below the average for the Barcelona area and a public space with intensive use that demands a large investment in its cleaning and maintenance. The inhabitant profile is also immigrant in 21% of the total population. This means that in such a complex territory, projects must be planned in detail and with a transversal perspective.

Improvement of public space
Why a city project?
- Creation of scalable and reproductibl models to respond to detected pathologies.
- Joint interdepartmental actions with Youth, Culture, Civics, Education and Urbanism.
- Interventions in the most degraded public spaces or those with the most urgent need, according to previous study and planning.
- It allows us to create a joint identity for interventions and encourage them to reach all neighborhoods.
A different solution for each space
We understand that each detected territory and space has its singularities so we cannot apply the same solution throughout the city. Singularities such as local organizations or agents, the current use of the space or its physical characteristics, among others, give us a lot of information about the most appropriate type of intervention and where the focus of the action will be. The balance between these 3 axis: People, creativity and public space are integrated into all the projects and, depending on the needs of the space, the performance has more or less prominence in a certain axis.
