El projecte s’inicia l’any 2019 sorgit d’un anàlisis realitzat dins d’un procés participatiu impulsat per l’Ajuntament de L’Hospitalet l’any 2018. Aquest procés va reunir entitats, veïns i veïnes per analitzar el barri Florida – Les Planes on es situa el solar sobre el qual actuem dins del projecte. L’espai estava en un estat d’abandonament els últims 20 anys molt elevat sent un punt d’incivisme, consum de drogues i violència.
En primer lloc establim una comissió de seguiment del projecte formada per centres educatius dels barris adjacents al solar (Florida-Les Planes i Sant Josep), entitats, administració, veïns i veïnes. Aquesta comissió detecta carències i projecta els usos que volem donar-li al solar. Un cop analitzat l’espai projectem els elements que ens permetin executar aquest programa d’activitats de manera conjunta amb els mateixos membres de la comissió, alumnes dels centres educatius, voluntaris, etc.
Cada element i millora de l’espai es codissenya, es construeix i es fa un manteniment de manera comunitària per tots els grups de participants i voluntaris del projecte. Durant el 2020 la comissió decideix la construcció urgent d’un centre ecològic cultural al parc que serveixi d’espai per dur a terme activitats culturals, educatives i de lleure així com laboratori per continuar millorant el parc.

Amb una comissió d’entitats, administració, centres educatius, veïns i veïnes detectem les carències de l’espai que van des de la neteja, l’il·luminació o la falta de mobiliari per dur a terme activitats i utilitzar el solar com un parc. Aquesta comissió es reuneix periòdicament al solar on celebrem reunions i analitzem les propostes de millora, el programa d’usos, etc.

DISSENYAR
Un cop detectades les necessitats i realitzat el pla d’usos de l’espai es dissenyen els elements i projectes de millora de l’espai. En aquest disseny intervenen grups de centres educatius participants del projecte, la comissió de seguiment i professionals de la fundació. El disseny ha d’incloure materials reutilitzats, sostenibles i ha de ser fàcil de construir per qualsevol participant del projecte.

De la mateixa manera que hem detectat les necessitats i hem dissenyat els projectes de millora, construïm els elements amb els mateixos participants en les fases anteriors. Això es deu al fet que promovem una participació activa en totes les fases possibles del projecte des de l’anàlisis, al disseny i l’execució i manteniment de les propostes. Això ens permet tindre un impacte elevat en les capacitats i empoderament dels participants.

El centre ecològic cultural MODUL es construeix el 2020 per tal de fer el Parc un espai més resilient i que doni resposta a reptes i necessitats del territori. Aquest espai crea noves oportunitats al territori, ens dota d’un espai físic per impulsar processos comunitaris innovadors i crear noves xarxes de treball pel benestar comunitari i l’accés a la cultura, educació o lleure.
El MODUL es un centre flexible i innovador que funciona com equipament multidisciplinari i s’adapta als usos que necessitem en cada moment. Ha estat dissenyat amb la comissió de seguiment del projecte i comença a acollir activitats educatives, de lleure i culturals al novembre de 2020.
Disposa d’una sala polivalent, un taller, un pati i un magatzem i funciona únicament mitjançant energia solar. La façana i està realitzada únicament amb fusta reutilitzada d’altres construccions i de bancs que havien sigut retirats de l’espai públic.
